Where did you travel throughout Europe?

Over six weeks, I travelled through Croatia, Italy, Mallorca and Greece. It was a perfect mix of visiting old favourites and seeing new places! 

Which destination completely stole your heart, and why?

Capri, Italy, easily became a favourite of mine. I’d never been before, and it completely took me by surprise how much I loved it. The restaurants on the waterfront, the scenery, the swimming, I felt like it combined everything I love in one place. It’s the first overseas place I’ve been with my boyfriend which made it even more magical! It definitely has a very special place in my heart now.

Did you discover any hidden gems you'd recommend?

I wouldn’t necessarily call it a hidden gem, but I don’t think Paros gets enough love. It completely surpassed my expectations. It’s such a lively island with so many beautiful spots for swimming, amazing food and atmosphere. I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the Greek islands.

If you had to sum up your Europe trip in three words, what would they be?

Perfect, Life changing, True Love

If you could go back to just one place tomorrow, where would it be and why?

If I could choose right now, I’d very happily go back to Capri, ideally sitting on a boat with a bowl of pasta.

Which Avant Studio pieces came with you, and which one never left your side?

I brought all of the collection I co-designed, of course! I have to say, my Cleo Necklace in Aquamarine was probably my most worn piece. I especially loved experimenting with putting the charm on different chains to create a different look.

Another standout that I rarely took off was the Bubble Letter Necklace. I absolutely loved layering it with other pieces or wearing it on its own. It’s become a new favourite in my day to day wardrobe too.

How would you describe your European summer style?

When I’m travelling, my main priority is being comfy! I’d describe my summer style as effortless, fresh and beachy. I like to keep things light and easy, with pops of colour here and there.

It was also perfect timing for some new One Mile pieces, I lived in our basics and got to wear some unreleased pieces throughout the trip which made it so exciting to give everyone a few little sneak peeks along the way!

Does travelling through Europe influence your design process for One Mile? If so, how?

Definitely. It’s not only the places themselves, but the people, the lifestyle, the colours and the way everyone dresses. It would be hard not to come home inspired after spending so much time experiencing different places and cultures.

What's your biggest styling tip for elevating simple holiday outfits with jewellery?

Layering or simple statement pieces! I tend to keep my holiday outfits quite simple, so layering a few necklaces, adding a statement hoop or stacking bracelets can completely change a basic outfit without having to overthink it.

If someone was packing for Europe tomorrow, which Sammy x Avant pieces would you tell them to bring?

Definitely the Cleo Necklace in Aquamarine. The pop of blue feels perfect for a European summer. I’d also bring pieces you can easily layer and mix together so you can create different looks without overpacking.
